The Sensory Disconnect: Visual fidelity has skyrocketed, but we are decades away from accurately replicating tactile feedback, weight, and proprioception. Without truly "feeling" the digital world, it remains a passive viewing experience rather than a genuine physical reality.

The Compute Bottleneck: True photorealism requires real-time ray tracing and complex physics simulations that currently demand massive GPUs. Shrinking that immense power into a wearable, thermal-efficient mobile processor without melting the device (or your face) is an engineering hurdle we haven't solved.

The Uncanny Valley of Presence: Digital avatars and interactions still lack the subtle biological micro-cues—eye twitches, breathing patterns, skin flush—that humans subconsciously rely on for trust, leaving virtual social interactions feeling hollow and performative.

Optics vs. Biology: The human eye is incredibly complex. Current displays still struggle with the "Vergence-Accommodation Conflict" (where your eyes focus on a screen but converge on a distant object), causing strain and constantly reminding the brain that it is looking at technology, not through it.
